Commentary of the work by the composer :

The three-movement piece played without interruption lasts for about 17 minutes. The introduction is full of tension, and it opens with continuous waves of crescendo. The enthusiasm  is interrupted before it reaches its peak, and a much softer music takes place, yet the tension remains. The trills build up to a ferocious rage. A short piano bridge restores the opening crescendo, this time culminating in a scherzando furioso, with its black humour evoking the atmosphere of a Dance of Death. A misterioso section appears in the middle of this movement, representing the irrational; beneath, we notice an emerging melancholic monotone tune of violin an cello, playing four octaves apart. A nostalgic reminiscence of the scherzando theme opens the last movement, molto lento; its quiet and subdued lyricism, as if beyond our earthly existence, is interrupted in the middle by a reminiscence of the Scherzo. At the end, the descending seventh chords of cello and piano support the hovering violin line leading to a conflicting extreme.
