Performer :

Jan Dobrzelewski, violin

This work has been first performed in Morgins in 2002 by Jan Dobrzelewski, during the festival “Flâneries Musicales de Champéry”.

Duration of the work : approximately 6 minutes

Commentary :

Soliloque is a meditation, facing oneself, a introspection suspended in time. This time is not measured, but rather lived as psychological time. The perception of rhythm seems to dissolve in the immensity of Time. Thus, one finds again a breathing like it might have been in the past, when the human being was in contact with Nature, and didn’t find himself under the stress of  modern life, subjected to the dictatorship of speed.

(after Jan Dobrzelewski)
