of the work : approximately 12 minutes
Commentary of the work by the composer :
« Reflets » (“Reflections” in English) for violin and
percussion has been written between 2002 and 2004. Violin and percussion
respond to one another, imitate, influence, attract, repulse or call out to
each other, like reflections. At some moments, one may think to the reflections
of water, which sometimes is clear and calm, and at other times agitated or
even muddy. Sometimes, it may even evoke distorting mirrors. At last, the
reflections can be of psychological nature :
recalls and reminiscences of a past which has been modified and reinterpreted
by the play of memory or subconscious.
